    Description

From an estate sale in Victorian Cape May, NJ comes this 19 piece child's tea set by Rudolstadt in porcelain.   See the picture of the one saucer that has a chip out of it, the others are perfect.  This set is from 1914 and the kids pictured are known as HAPPIFATS.  Fall in love with this charming tea set decorated with strawberries and a variety of images of the adorable Happifat children. Happifats are chubby, happy little tots that were created and patented by Kate Jordan in 1914. They were featured in books and as dolls similar to the Kewpie doll and this set was made at that time as well. Included in the set are 5 cups, 4 saucers, 6 cake plates, a sugar bowl with lid, creamer and of course the tea pot. Manufactured in Germany by Beyer and Bock Rudolstadt and marked on the bottom of each piece "Rudolstadt" "Made in Germany" with a crown over a "B" inside shield for Beyer & Bock.  Buyer to pay actual ground shipping;  shipping weight is 5 pounds carefully packed.  Thanks for looking and good luck, contact me for other arrangements/local pickup.
