Trough: 5" x 2½" x 2½" Pump: 6¼" tall Originally a Northwood design, Wright bought the molds and had the Town Pump & Trough produced for many years. The molds were sold after Wright closed, so this Trough may have been produced by the new owner of the molds.
    L. G. WRIGHT GLASS
    Reproduction Glassware 1930s - 1990s
    L. G. Wright Glass Company
started as a glass reseller, purchasing “seconds” from manufacturers for resale. The owner and founder Lawrence Gale (Si) Wright quickly realized that there was profit in the demand for antique pressed glass and glass inspired by old patterns, and so decided to sell reproductions. Wright initially purchased and used original glass molds, but soon commissioned his own molds inspired by old patterns. As much as 90% of Wright's glass was made using those commissioned moulds. Production of glassware was outsourced to other glass companies including Fenton, Fostoria, Viking, Morgantown, and Mosser. This business model worked well for many decades, although Wright did run afoul of Frank M. Fenton who refused to produce Custard glassware using moulds from which the Northwood "N" trademark
had not been removed. This trademark was altered by adding a "foot" to the base of the N's left leg
and became known as the "wobbly W". The L. G. Wright Glass Company went out of business in the late 1990s.

    Contemporary Condition
refers to modern glassware which is relatively free of the production issues found in antique glassware, due to modernized machinery, advances in glass making chemistry, and quality control. Even so, because modern Carnival Glass is generally still hand-shaped, hand-painted and/or hand-iridized, each piece is technically a one-of-a-kind, and you may still find a minor production issue from time to time.
