    Description:
    I've been collecting bronzes for about 15 years. I had acquired this piece in NJ at auction.
    I loved this piece, and it looked beautiful in my Victorian home in NJ. I am now retired in Florida, and it doesn't fit the style here as well.
    This plaque is so unusual. I've seen pieces done in stone (actually composite stone according to Antique Roadshow). I've seen pieces done in just bronze.
    This piece is done in bronze in bas relief from a beige stone that is probably marble.
    The bas relief bronze is very nicely done and has nice detail and patina.
    The plaque measures 7.25” in diameter with the highest point being about 1.5”.
    There is writing on the bottom in script. I can read E.W. Wyon (something I can't read) and what looks like 7

    June 1848.
    There is also a relief mark on the back that is likely part of the whole bronze piece.
    Condition
    :
    The writing shows wear and is read with difficulty.
    No chips, cracks or repairs.
    The bronze has a very nice dark patina.
